October 16, 2006, Deerfield Beach, FL - Red Television Group is pleased to announce the selection of Fat Gas for its innovative, educational television series, PULSE ON AMERICA. The organization will be featured in an Eye on Technology Series about “Renewable Energy.”

The world is on the verge of unprecedented growth in the production and use of biofuels—these are liquid fuels derived from plants and other biomass. National security concerns, rising oil prices, the desire to invest in U.S. agriculture, and a host of new and improved technologies are propelling many states to enact powerful incentives for the production and use of biodiesel. This, in turn, is sparking a large new wave of investment.

Biodiesel, the nation’s fastest growing alternative fuel, is a non-toxic biodegradable diesel fuel made from renewable resources, such as vegetable oils and animal fats. It burns similar to petroleum diesel but with dramatically lower pollutants and with little to no modification needed for diesel engines. Biodiesel provides flexibility in use since it can be blended with petroleum diesel at any level to create a biodiesel blend (For example, B20 is 20% biodiesel and 80% petroleum diesel).

Fat Gas, headquartered in New Jersey, is a biodiesel production company that will develop a regional model to enable the production of renewable clean energy. Fat Gas’ primary areas of focus include production and wholesale of high quality biodiesel, research and development of process technologies and alternative feedstocks as well as education, outreach and training on the benefits of biodiesel and its proper use and handling.

Biodiesel dramatically reduces Carbon Dioxide, the major component in Greenhouse Gases, by at least 78% relative to petroleum diesel. Since it contains 50 -100% fewer toxins and pollutants than petroleum diesel, Biodiesel also improves air quality. Biodiesel can be produced at competitive prices from regional and recyclable feedstocks. “In order to maximize the economic and environmental benefits of biodiesel, it is important to integrate regional feedstock supply with the production,” says Libby Moreo, CFO of Fat Gas. Fat Gas is building a biodiesel production facility with a 10 million gallon per year total capacity at the Port of Georgia, and also is engaged in a collaborative biodiesel project with a water agency in South America.

While studies show that it took 125 years to use the first trillion barrels of oil, it is estimated that it will take just 30 years to use the next trillion. As energy demand increases across the globe, biodiesel is a necessary tool within our renewable energy tool belt to provide a clean burning, greenhouse gas reducing, safe and simple fuel to meet growing demand. Biodiesel reduces dependence on foreign oil, provides jobs in the local community, and helps protect the environment.
